Deichmanske Library identity does what MIT failed to do
Last week I commented on MIT’s new identity program. Here’s a similar one created for the Deichmanske Library, but it was created manually instead of programmatically. While similar in concept, the execution on this identity clearly prevails. I find it a small victory for designers who exist in a developer’s world.
Review: MIT Media Lab new logo
Totally geekified – I love the concept. *love* The execution is slightly lacking though. The color palette and the resulting gradient overlapping could have been utilized to create a more visually appealling effect that would also reflect on the futuristic cutting edge endeavours of the group. I also think white dots would have created a really fun interplay between positive and negative space.

Making the invisible visible
I’m always a fan of innovative guerrilla marketing, and this ad for Amnesty International from the agency Brothers and Sisters out of the UK is really good. Simple and effective… totally gave me the heebie-jeebies!
new kotex ads
sorry for the long hiatus. Working on it! In the meantime… loving this ad by kotex. (vid1) The blue liquid thing is pretty funny. It’s an interesting direction too, considering their past ads with all the dots and the UK ad (vid2). While there is consistency in the lack of flowers and whatnot, those 2 campaigns still seem to contradict eachother… Because let’s be real here. It’s not a “monthly gift” from mother nature (Always) and it’s certainly not me and my beaver being best friends. Although that concept is pretty funny too… you could take that to so many nasty nasty places.
